Rag & Bone Bindery of Pawtucket, Rhode Island featured fabrics by Sheri McCulley Studio on a variety of handmade books during their annual online “Trunk Sale” which ran from April 23 to April 30, 2012.
Bookbinding artisans at Rag & Bone Bindery selected designs from the “Woodland Tails” collection by Sheri McCulley for this year’s run of limited-edition products, which include Baby’s First Year Book, School Years book, Recipe Journals, photo albums, accordion books, gift books, day planners, and more (see site for actual selection of products featuring Sheri’s designs). The “Woodland Tails” fabric is also available separately from Riley Blake Designs.
“The Rag & Bone Bindery Trunk Sale is an event we look forward to every year,” said Rag & Bone Bindery co-owner Jason Thompson. “We love seeing all the fabric come into the studio and turning it into limited quantities of beautiful books. This year we turned the selection over to our talented staff and the range of fabrics is more dynamic and beautiful than ever! We always look forward to sharing these unique finds with our customers and the fans of the fabric designers during this special shopping event.”
Founded in 1991 in Rhode Island by Jason Thompson and Ilira Steinman, Rag & Bone Bindery was started from the passion for art and beautifully crafted handmade books. At heart, Rag & Bone Bindery is a family affair. Inspiration for the books was first influenced by Jason and Ilira’s romantic story (Jason received his first hand-bound book from Ilira). What started off as a common interest evolved to be a successful organization that produces high-quality, hand-made photo books, albums, journals, guest books and a multitude of other stationery items, here in the US. Rag & Bone Bindery products are carried by specialty retailers in the US and internationally. Customers can shop online at www.ragandbonebindery.com.

Sheri's Creations’ initial collection for Lettering Delights features papercraft adaptations of Sheri’s “Trick or Treat Street” and “Costume Club” Halloween themes, best known as the popular fabric collections of those names previously manufactured by Northcott Silk. Ready-to-assemble designs in the new “Costume Clubhouse” papercraft series sold at Lettering Delights include cards, candy wrappers, cupcake toppers, party garland and banners, a three-dimensional haunted house, and gift bags and boxes. Additional elements for open-ended creativity include decorative alphabets, paper designs, borders, tags and labels, and freestanding characters.
“When I saw Sheri’s designs, I literally squealed,” says Jill Simmons, art director at Lettering Delights. “We are delighted to have new these new and original designs by Sheri in our online store. Add cross stitch and afghans to the many product categories that have been inspired by Sheri McCulley's "Swell Noel" collection.
The 29 x 42-inch afghan kit from Dimensions Crafts, a division of EK Success, is available starting July 2011 from a variety of national craft and hobby chains, including Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Jo Ann Stores. In addition, it's in Dimensions' own online store and there are international distributors listed on the Dimensions site.
"As an avid cross-stitcher, I am always looking for unique and charming projects to complete and give as gifts, although I think this time I found a project that I will have to keep for myself," says Stephanie Chizmar, a needlecrafter from Edwardsville, Kansas, who recently picked up her own copy of the kit. "I absolutely love the adorable designs in this pattern, and there’s no wonder why – Sheri McCulley is one of my favorite artists. It is such a delight to see her Swell Noel artwork in a cross-stitch pattern!"
The afghan features many of the same sweet, stylish, and classic Christmas motifs that were originally introduced in 2008's scrapbooking collection for K and Company.
In 2009, Swell Noel blazed a new retail trail as an extensive line of ornaments, decor pieces, and tabletop items for Macy's, as well as a fabric collection named "Have a Sheri Berry Holiday" for Northcott Silk.
Swell Noel's latest application as an afghan kit includes pre-sorted cotton thread, 18-count acrylic afghan (stitched over two fabric threads), needle, and instructions.
Up next for the globetrotting Swell Noel gang: Holiday cards for Groupe Editor of France, which will be distributing the designs worldwide (except USA) with greetings like "Joyeux Noel" and "Bonne Annee!"
June 1, 2011 - Sheri McCulley Seibold of Sheri McCulley Studio has signed an agreement to design fabric exclusively for Riley-Blake Designs. Based in Draper, Utah, Riley-Blake manufactures fabric for quilting, home décor, and the manufacturing of fabric-based products.
“We are delighted to add Sheri to our growing stable of top-level design talent,” said Bret Cloward, president of Riley-Blake. “Sheri McCulley has a reputation for hitting the taste target of buyers in many product categories, including fabric, and she brings a distinctive new style that complements the youthful and fashion-forward look our products are becoming known for.”
Sheri’s first collection for Riley Blake is based on her “ModTod” collection which debuted at Surtex in 2010. Featuring six designs in three colorways, ModTod breaks from Sheri’s more nostalgic feel with a contemporary look geared to parents who prefer a more modern style for their kids.
In addition to eight fabric collections for Northcott Silk's Lyndhurst Studio, Sheri has created stationery products for C.R. Gibson, holiday-themed scrapbooking products for K & Company, decorative giftware for Macy's, and greeting cards for both American and European publishers.
Since her 2007 debut at the Surtex art licensing show in New York, Sheri has built Kansas City-based Sheri McCulley Studio into a brand that encompasses fabric, holiday ornaments, murals, crafting supplies, cards, stuffed animals, checks and wallets, and baby clothing and decor.
Her work with a diverse range of manufacturers has delighted both handcrafters, who sell products based on her fabrics at etsy.com, and scrapbookers, who print and cut her designs from cartridges of art created for Provo Craft’s sophisticated Cricut Imagine™ machine.
Previews of the “ModTod” collection are now available at Riley-Blake.com and many online retailers.
Oct. 1, 2010 - When Provo Craft recently unveiled their innovative new personal print and cut machine on HSN, it shipped with a cartridge of art by Sheri McCulley. The new Cricut Imagine (tm) machine both prints and cuts designs stored on interchangeable cartridges, including one cartridge featuring 50 layered images and 30 patterns by artist Sheri McCulley Seibold.
The Cricut Imagine, which allows crafters to select individual image elements and apply patterns in infinite combinations before printing and cutting the designs on plain paper, debuted on HSN at midnight on Sept. 14 and was promoted and demonstrated in rotation with a variety of craft and scrapbooking products by other manufacturers for 24 hours. By the end of the promotional marathon, HSN buyers purchased over 10,000 debut bundles of the product, which included the cartridge of Sheri's art, entitled "Nursery Tails," based on the Sheri McCulley "Woodland Tails" collection.
In addition to "Nursery Tails," Sheri has licensed her "Woodland Christmas" collection for a Cricut Imagine cartridge, and three other collections for cartridges for non-printing Cricut cutters. See cricut.com or sherimcculley.com for information about where to buy.
